Works close Forth bridge junction

Forth Bridges
The Echline junction closure will hinder drivers heading for the Forth bridge

Motorists travelling north on the Forth Road Bridge are being warned of major diversions during a series of overnight road closures at its main junction.

The Echline junction, the intersection of the A90 and A904 to the south of the Forth Road Bridge will be closed at night from Monday to Thursday.

The closure is to make way for work on a new bus priority lane.

It will be closed between 1900 BST and 0600 BST. Traffic will be diverted via the A90.

Also on 2, 6 and 7 May the northbound A90 underneath the Echline junction will be closed completely between 1900 BST and 0600 BST. All traffic will be diverted over the Echline junction.

Councillor Tony Martin, Forth Estuary Transport Authority convener, said: "I would like to apologise in advance to local residents and motorists for any increased noise or delays that these works may cause."
