Football fans will be asked to make donations to ex-service personnel charity, Erskine, at Saturday's premier league match in Inverness.

The collection will be held at Inverness Caledonian Thistle's game against Dundee United.

Erskine has a waiting list of 170 ex-servicemen and women in need of specialist care.

It has homes in Erskine, Glasgow and Edinburgh and bursary places in care homes in Inverness.

Among those who have accommodation in the Highland capital is WWII veteran Lyall McRobb, 91, who recently met Caley manager Craig Brewster.

Members of 161 (1st Highland) Squadron Air Cadets will be collecting money at the turnstiles before the match.
