A 22-year-old man from Aviemore is heading for Canada to help train huskies for an extreme dog sled race.

John Stewart will spend five weeks in the Yukon in preparation for the Iditarod Great Sled Dog Race in Alaska, which will be held in January.

He has been working with dogs since he was six at his parents' Cairngorm Sled Dog Centre near Aviemore.

An interview with Mr Stewart can be heard during High Cafe on BBC Radio Scotland from 1315 GMT on 12 December.
