A woman who was reported missing in Inverness, sparking a search by Coastguard and lifeboat crews, has been traced safe and well.

Northern Constabulary said she made contact from her home after realising that a search was being carried out to find her.

At one stage a Coastguard team in a small craft checked beneath the city's Ness Bridge.

Kessock lifeboat also carried out a search of the harbour.
