Strikes to go ahead at airports
Campbeltown Airport
The strike will affect airports from Campbeltown to Sumburgh
Firefighters and engineers at airports in the Highlands and Islands are to go ahead with planned industrial action this summer.

Talks held in an attempt to avoid the strikes failed to find a resolution.

Employees who are members of the Unite union are in dispute with Highlands and Islands Airports Limited over pay.

A strike lasting 24 hours is now scheduled to start at 0001 BST on 30 July and every subsequent Monday until a resolution is found.

Unite represents 131 firefighters and leading firefighter grades among the company's airport fire service and engineers.

The union said its members will make themselves available for emergencies.
