Daniel and his father Joe set out canoeing on Monday
An "unofficial" search has now begun for a 12-year-old boy who went missing in a canoeing accident that left his father dead.

There has been no trace of Daniel McTaggart since Monday's accident near Bragar on Lewis.

His father Joe, 60, from Arnol, was rescued but later died in hospital.

Stornoway Coastguard said the scaled down search by volunteers will concentrate on the shoreline close to where the pair got into difficulty.
