Wild rabbits pose a novel problem

Rabbits are seen on grassy areas in Inverness
A bookshop owner in Inverness claims to be having problems with wild rabbits burrowing under his city centre store.

Charles Leakey, who runs Leakey's, said instead of bookworms he has become aware of rabbits moving about under the floor boards.

He has asked Highland Council for help because of his worries for the structure of the former Gaelic church.

Mr Leakey said: "They are under the floor, but I can't take up the boards because there are so many books."

Leakey's sells second-hand books with a cafe upstairs.

Mr Leakey moved into the 18th Century St Mary's Gaelic Church 14 years ago.
