About 250 sea kayakers are expected to attend
Hundreds of sea kayakers from the UK, the US, Holland, Jersey, Ireland and France are to take part in a major event on the Isle of Skye.

The 8th Scottish Sea Kayak Symposium will take place from Friday to Monday at Sabhal Mor Ostaig, the Gaelic College in Sleat.

Coaches and wildlife experts will be among the speakers.

Chairman Duncan Winning described the festival as one of the longest running in the British Isles.

He said: "It has grown with the upsurge in popularity of sea kayaking and enjoys a high reputation amongst the international sea paddling community."

The event is supported by the Highland 2007 Year of Culture.
