The Loch Garten ospreys attract thousands of visitors
A female osprey has laid two eggs to a partner which smashed those fathered by a rival.

EJ had mated with an older rogue male called VS rather than her usual partner Henry at RSPB Scotland's Loch Garten Centre on Speyside.

Henry horrified visitors and staff when he deliberately destroyed VS's clutch last month.

However, the RSPB has confirmed that EJ has now laid two new eggs and there are hopes she will lay a third.

Ospreys from West Africa have been flying to Loch Garten for 50 years.

This year, the saga of jealousy and violence began when EJ returned before Henry and mated with VS.

When Henry arrived he knew the eggs in the nest were not his and kicked them out.
