Murder charge follows man's death
A man has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of another man at a house in Caol, Fort William.

John Gemmell, 60, made no plea or declaration at Fort William Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody.

Northern Constabulary identified the dead man as 55-year-old John MacDonald, of Glendessary Street, Caol.

An investigation was launched following the discovery of Mr MacDonald's body in a house on Tuesday.
