Cadet beats prince to top honour
An Army officer from the Highlands has beaten his fellow cadets, including Prince William, to take a top honour.

David Robertson, from Inverness, will receive the Queen's Medal when he passes out at Sandhurst military academy next Friday.

It is awarded to the officer cadet who achieves the best scores in military, practical and academic studies.

Junior Under Officer Robertson is attached to the Royal Regiment of Scotland.

Prince William will also pass out at the parade and is set to follow his brother Harry into the Household Cavalry's Blues and Royals, with the aim of becoming a troop leader in an armoured reconnaissance unit.
