A film about a German scientist's ill-fated postal experiment in the Western Isles is finally being screened in cinemas after a long delay.
Shauna Macdonald and Kevin McKidd star in the film
The Rocket Post tells the story of a scientist who tries to send post between Harris and the island of Scarp in the run up to World War II.
The comedy drama was ready for release in 2003, but could not find a distributor in the UK.
It is being shown in Edinburgh and Glasgow, before Aberdeen and Inverness.
Screenings are also planned for Stornoway before Christmas.
Director Stephen Whittaker died of cancer before seeing his feature debut released.
The cast includes Scots actor Kevin McKidd and Shauna Macdonald, who is the female lead.
She plays opposite Danish actor Ulrich Thomsen, as German rocket scientist Gerhard Zucher who tries to develop a means of transporting mail between inaccessible islands.
The film is loosely based on a true story and sees Zucher having to deal with local hostility to his new technology, but also to Germans.
The production was filmed on the island of Taransay, the setting for BBC Reality TV show, Castaway.
