Isles' water works to be upgraded
Scottish Water has announced that it is to upgrade waste water treatment works in the Western Isles to pave the way for new housing.

Works at Bayble, Melbost and Steinish in Lewis and Tong and Tarbert in Harris are earmarked for improvement.

Scottish Water said drinking water quality would also be improved in the isles.

This will be linked to upgrades at Stornoway, Barvas, Geocrab in Harris and on Benbecula.
