The woman was airlifted after she collapsed on the mountain
A 69-year-old climber has been rescued by helicopter after collapsing half way up Ben Nevis.

The woman was winched aboard the Royal Navy rescue helicopter from Prestwick and taken to a waiting ambulance at the foot of the mountain.

The alarm was raised by a passer-by and the woman was taken to the Belford Hospital in Fort William.

A spokesman for the emergency services said the casualty's condition was not thought to be life-threatening.
