A section of the A9 road in the Highlands has been blocked at the Slochd summit south of Inverness after a fuel tanker caught fire.
Police said a tyre on the lorry blew out starting the fire at about 0900 BST. The driver escaped uninjured.
The lorry was carrying heavy oil and incident closed both carriageways.
The northbound carriageway was later reopened and Northern Constabulary said the southbound section was expected to open in the late afternoon.
The A9 rises to 1315ft (400m) at the Slochd summit, a point notorious for getting blocked by snow in winter.
