Two charged with navy man assault

The alleged victim was a crew member of HMS Blyth
Two teenagers have been charged with assaulting a crew member of a Royal Navy minesweeper which was docked at Stornoway Harbour.

The man spent a night in hospital following the alleged attack which took place in the early hours of Sunday.

He was part of the crew of HMS Blyth, which recently took part in a Nato exercise off the coast of Sutherland.

CCTV footage led to the arrest of two youths, aged 17 and 18. A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
