Modern day knights clash in a previous joust at Fort George
Historic Scotland has recreated rivalries between Scotland and England dating back to the 13th Century.

Noisy mock medieval battles from the age of Robert the Bruce were being staged at its Fort George property, near Ardersier, on Saturday and Sunday.

Knights of Royal England, the Fire and Sword and Historic Saltire societies re-enacted clashes between Scottish and English knights.

The weekend event also included jousting demonstrations.

Fort George on the shores of the Moray Firth was built to garrison British troops after the Battle of Culloden in 1746.

It remains a working barracks.
