Rock Ness fans have monster time
The Rock Ness event attracted 20,000 dance fans

A major music event on the shores of Loch Ness passed largely without incident, police have said.

About 20,000 revellers converged on the banks of the loch on Saturday for the gig which was headlined by Fatboy Slim.

DJ Norman Cook staged the one-day Rock Ness concert outside the village of Dores near Inverness.

The dance event also featured DJs Mylo and Carl Cox. Cook said the concert would make up for the lack of a Glastonbury festival this year.

A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said there had been a few arrests but these were for minor incidents.

There had also been a number of drug seizures at the site but these were for small amounts.

The spokesman said: "There have been one or two incidents but nothing major.

"There have been a few things, as you would expect with a crowd of this size but nothing serious.

"In general the whole event has gone quite well. Tomorrow we will have a better picture as to how the event has gone."
