A handful of air services have been cancelled at Inverness Airport amid a second day of tighter security.

Easyjet flights to Luton and Gatwick have been suspended but the airline's flights to Belfast and Bristol were going ahead.

Highlands and Islands Airports Limited said disruption at its nine other airports had taken the form of delays.

Police said that high visibility patrols by officers would continue at Inverness until further notice.

On Thursday there were delays to a number of flights, with cancellations including BMI's service to Heathrow and Easyjet flights to Gatwick, Luton and Bristol.

Easyjet said its flights on Friday had also been cancelled and British Airways warned of delays on its Inverness-Gatwick route.

Airport staff advised passengers to check for up-to-date information via the Highlands and Islands Airports' website.
