The missile was brought up in nets near Campbeltown harbour

Bomb disposal experts have carried out a controlled explosion on a missile pulled up by a dredger near Campbeltown Harbour. The Ministry of Defence has confirmed a vessel brought up an item in its nets. A Royal Navy bomb disposal team took it out to sea into 39ft (12 meters) of water and blew it up. It was described by the bomb team as a piece of "historic ordnance" but it said there was no reason to suspect the missile was live.
