Evacuation at Strathclyde university building

The library building at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow was evacuated and closed on Thursday following what police described as an "incident".

A spokesman for the university said the Curran building had been cleared "as a precautionary measure only".

The incident, around midday, resulted in staff and students being moved to alternative accommodation.

Following a search by Strathclyde Police officers, the Curran building was reopened at 1500 BST.
