Police are appealing for witnesses to the shooting

Police believe a flat in the Shettleston area of Glasgow was deliberately targeted by gunmen after shots were fired into the property.

Five adults living at the flat in Shettleston Road, near Culross Street, were uninjured but badly shaken following the shooting at 1400 GMT.

Police said two masked men were involved in the incident which resulted in minor damage to the flat.

The suspects ran along Shettleston Road before turning into Culross Street.

Both men were described as being white, of muscular build, in their 30s, with local accents, and had covered their faces.

'Deliberately targeted'

One was about 6ft and was wearing a black hooded jacket and black jogging trousers.

The other was about 6ft 1in and was wearing a black zipped jacket with a white T-shirt underneath and black jogging trousers.

Det Sgt Eddie Waye, of Strathclyde Police, said: "Our inquiries, so far, indicate that the property was deliberately targeted and that this was not a random act.

"Fortunately, no-one in the flat was injured, albeit the residents have all been left very badly traumatised."

"I would appeal to anyone, who was in the area of Shettleston Road near Culross Street around 2pm on Monday, who may have seen the suspects or, who can provide any information at all, which might help us with our inquiries, to come forward."
