Woman charged with OAP's murder

A 28-year-old woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of a pensioner at her Glasgow flat.

Hannah Smith, 63, was found dead in her flat in Soutra Place in the city's Cranhill area on Monday after a relative became worried about her.

In a hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court, Amanda Nicoll, who lives in the city, was charged with murder and theft.

She made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody. The case was continued for further examination.
