Producers of a special effects-laden pantomime starring well-known Scots-American performer John Barrowman have released tickets a year in advance.

The Torchwood actor heads the cast of Aladdin at the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow from 10 December 2010.

The show will have all the traditional elements of pantomime but an array of effects which the audience will be able to see by donning 3D glasses.

Barrowman said he was looking forward to a "good laugh" in his home city.

The 42-year-old, whose family moved from Glasgow to the United States when he was eight, is also known for his work on "Dr Who" and star-search shows, "Any Dream Will Do" and "How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?".

He said: "I'm really looking forward to spending the holidays singing, dancing and having a good laugh in Glasgow next year.

"I love playing Aladdin and I think audiences will love everything about this amazing pantomime, especially the amazing 3D effects."
