A rare sports car thought to be worth more than £50,000 has been stolen from outside a house in Glasgow.

The burgundy Cobra was taken from the junction of Playfair Street and Poplin Street, Dalmarnock, at 1930 GMT on Thursday.

The owner had parked the car, one of just 1,000 in the UK, at a friend's house and heard it being driven away.

The 58-year-old is offering a reward for information leading to the return of his vehicle.

Police said he had spent a large amount of money customising the car and was "devastated" by the theft.

The Cobra sports car is coveted by a handful of collectors and enthusiasts, with 730 horsepower, capable of being driven at 120mph in second gear.
