Two men armed with knives have carried out a raid on a DIY store in Bishopbriggs. The men threatened a shop assistant at B&Q in Strathkelvin Retail Park at about 1840 GMT on Wednesday. They escaped in a blue Peugot 106, with a three-figure sum of cash. The 23-year-old male shop assistant was uninjured but extremely distressed. The car was later recovered in the Barmulloch area of Glasgow. Police have appealed for witnesses. The first suspect was described as white, in his late 30s, 6ft tall, of heavy build. He was wearing a grey, zipped top with a hood, black jogging bottoms, black training shoes and had a white scarf covering his face. The second man was white, in his late 30's, 5ft 6 - 8ins tall, of medium build, wearing a three-quarter length, black coat, dark denims, and black shoes. He had a grey balaclava covering his face. The number plate of the car involved had an "M" prefix. Det Sgt Jackie Ferrie, of Strathclyde Police, said: "I would like to speak to anyone who was within the store around 1840 GMT last night that has not already spoken to police. "I would also like to speak to anyone who may have seen the culprits hanging around outside the store prior to the robbery taken place, or anyone who saw the blue Peugeot car."
