Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery

Police in Hamilton are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at a video shop.

A man, who appeared to have a firearm, threatened a member of staff at the Video Drive In in the town's Quarry Street last night.

Nobody was injured but the thief and an accomplice got away with a three-figure sum of money.

The police want to hear from members of the public who may have seen the suspects.

One of the men is described as 5'9" tall, of slim build with short dark hair. The other is said to be in his early twenties and he was wearing dark trousers or jeans and a light coloured jacket.
