Three injured after bus collision

Three people have been taken to hospital by ambulance after a car and a bus collided in a street in Ayrshire.

The accident happened in Irvine's High Street at about 1300 GMT, a Strathclyde Police spokeswoman said.

A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said the three injured people were taken to Crosshouse hospital in Kilmarnock by ambulance.

The spokesman added that a further five people made their own way to the hospital for treatment.
