Man seriously injured in shooting

The man was shot in Haughburn Road in Pollok

A 48-year-old man has been shot in the Pollok area of Glasgow, police have confirmed.

The attack happened in Haughburn Road at about 2030 BST on Tuesday.

It is understood the victim, who has not been named, was shot in the chest and stomach and taken to the Southern General Hospital.

His condition has been described by police as "serious". A Strathclyde Police spokesman said inquiries were ongoing.
