Scots pop star on assault charge

Neil Mitchell
Mr Mitchell was released on bail after the hearing

The keyboard player with pop group Wet Wet Wet has appeared in court charged with attacking a woman.

Neil Mitchell, 44, from Glasgow, appeared at West London Magistrates' Court accused of assaulting Olivia Warren, causing her actual bodily harm.

He pled not guilty and was released on bail to appear again at the same court in September.

The judge imposed conditions of bail that he must not contact Miss Warren either directly or indirectly.

He was also ordered not to enter an address in Fulham, south west London.

Mr Mitchell declined to comment as he left the court.
