Mr Devlin died after being shot outside a snooker club

A man accused of a drive-by shooting in Paisley was caught with 500g of heroin at Glasgow Central Station two months later, a court has heard. Anthony Collins was arrested as he got off a train from Birmingham. Police searched his home and found a handgun. Mr Collins, 30, Richard McCondochie, 25, and John Burke, 28, deny murdering 18-year-old Andrew Devlin and attempting to murder Gerald O'Doherty. The two victims were shot outside the Suzy Q's snooker club in August 2007. Det Con Raymond Hunter, 38, was giving evidence in the trial at the High Court in Glasgow. He told prosecutor Iain McSporran that after receiving information they went to the station and stopped Mr Collins as he left the train on 29 October 2007. Det Con Hunter said that Mr Collins was asked if he had any controlled drugs and replied: "Aye. I've got some in my bag." 'Secret cupboard' The court was told that a search of the bag uncovered 500g of heroin wrapped in newspaper and a polythene bag. The following day a team of officers searched the flat Mr Collins shared with his partner Laura Kinnear in Darleith Street, Glasgow. After a thorough search a handgun was found inside a sock in a "secret cupboard" behind a wardrobe. The court heard Ms Kinnear was present throughout the search and the finding of the handgun. Det Con Hunter said: "She was asked if she knew anything about it and she denied all knowledge. She was shocked and upset." Advocate Susan Duff, representing Ms Kinnear, had the video of the search played to the jury. Ms Duff asked Det Con Hunter: "It took three of your colleagues to move the wardrobe to find the secret cupboard didn't it?" He replied: "Yes." Firearms charges The defence advocate then asked: "She completely denied any involvement with the gun," and DC Hunter replied: "Yes." Mr Collins, Mr McCondochie and Mr Burke, all from Glasgow, also deny attempting to defeat the ends of justice by concealing a shotgun and setting fire to a Peugeot 307 estate car between 3 August, 2007, and 20 June, 2008, and firearms charges. Mr Collins and Mr McCondochie have lodged special defences. Co-accused Laura Kinnear, 29, from Govan, Glasgow, denies firearms charges between 15 October and 30 October, 2007. The trial, before Lord Malcolm, continues.
