Boclair Academy
Emergency services were called to Boclair Academy on Tuesday morning

A lab technician has been treated in hospital after suffering burns at a school in East Dunbartonshire.

The woman was mixing silver nitrate and magnesium in a lab at Boclair Academy, Bearsden, when a "small flash" occurred at about 1140 BST.

No pupils were present at the time but surrounding classrooms were cleared for a short time as a precaution.

East Dunbartonshire Council's health and safety advisor is to carry out an investigation into the incident.
