The spray-paint attack happened on the 65th anniversary of D-day

A teenager has been arrested after graffiti was painted on the cenotaph in Glasgow's George Square - hours after the D-Day landings were commemorated.

The incident was reported by members of the public on Saturday night. A 17-year-old male was later detained.

He is expected to appear at Glasgow District Court on Monday.

The graffiti was spray-painted on walls to the side of the cenotaph, which sits in front of the City Chambers. It has since been cleaned off.
