Curran fights Glasgow East again

Margaret Curran will make a second bid to win the Glasgow East seat

Labour MSP Margaret Curran has been selected to fight the Glasgow East seat at the next Westminster election.

The former cabinet minister was beaten into second place by the SNP's John Mason during a by-election in the constituency last July.

She won the unanimous backing of party members at a selection meeting.

Ms Curran already represents Glasgow in the Scottish Parliament, but the number of the seats in the city is due to be reduced because of boundary changes.
