Woman, 52, dies in fire at flat

A 52-year-old woman has died following a blaze at her home in Clydebank, firefighters have said.

Emergency crews were called to the flat in Trafalgar Street at about 1650 GMT and put out the fire.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service said Elizabeth McGarvey was pronounced dead at the scene.

Inquiries are ongoing into the cause of the fire but it would appear there are no suspicious circumstances. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
