Two charged over accountant death

Two men have been charged in relation to the abduction and death of Glasgow accountant Andrew Ramsay.

The 52-year-old was abducted near his home in Cardonald in 2006 and his skull was later found in the Firth of Clyde.

Strathclyde Police said two men - aged 44 and 46 - were charged and released pending further investigation. A report will be prepared for prosecutors.

Police said earlier this year that they had not established a cause of death and no other remains had been found.

Mr Ramsay disappeared on the evening of 22 February.

Fishing boat

He left the Quo Vadis pub in Paisley Road West with his partner and walked to his home in Berryknowes Road.

He was bundled into a car and never seen by his family again.

A massive police investigation was launched, taking detectives to England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Belgium.

In April 2007, his skull was found in the nets of a fishing boat which was trawling the Firth.
