Man caught with drugs and weapons

A 41-year-old man has been arrested in Inverclyde after being caught with weapons and drugs.

Police were called to Dalrymple Road, Greenock, at about 1245 GMT on Thursday after reports that a man was in possession of a weapon.

Officers searched him and recovered two weapons and a quantity of drugs, believed to be valium tablets, with an estimated street value of £43,100.

The 41-year-old is expected to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Friday.
