Police have appealed for help in tracing a "vulnerable" 14-year-old girl who has been missing from her home in Inverclyde for more than two weeks.

Alana McEwan, who lives with her grandmother in Greenock, was last in her home on 14 October.

She has since been sighted in Bridge of Weir, Paisley and Greenock.

Alana is 5ft 2in tall, of medium build and has black shoulder length hair. She was wearing blue tracksuit trousers, an orange top and a black jacket.

Det Insp John Dearie, of Strathclyde Police, said: "We would appeal to anyone who knows where Alana is staying, her whereabouts or has concerns for any young girl who may be staying in their area, to contact us."
