Detectives stop and quiz drivers and pedestrians in the hunt for pub killer
Motorists and pedestrians stopped by police investigating a double shooting outside a Glasgow pub gave a "good response", according to officers.
Police conducted interviews in the Cambridge Street area of the city centre between 2100 and 2300 BST on Monday, one week after the attack.
George Redmond, 42, died after being shot outside the Waldorf pub and John McGuire was seriously injured.
Police believe two men were involved in the shooting.
They also believe it was carried out from a Porsche Cayenne.
The victims, both known to police, were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary after at least nine shots were fired.
I would ask members of the public, including car dealerships to come forward if they have either bought or sold a black Porsche Cayenne since 1 September or even after the incident on the Monday night
Det Supt John Riggans Strathclyde Police
Mr Redmond died a short time after arriving at the hospital. It is believed he was shot with an automatic pistol fired from just 15ft away.
Det Supt John Riggans, who is heading the investigation, said the public had responded well to appeals for information.
Speaking about the "stop and interview" operation, Det Supt Riggans said: "The purpose [was] to speak to people who may, through habit, travel the same route every week.
"They may have seen or heard something that may be of interest to us.
"[We placed] a black Porsche Cayenne motor vehicle at the scene. We believe that a similar vehicle was involved in the incident and it was bearing a 05 plate."
He said he hoped people would recognise the car having been around the area in the last week.
"Our enquiries continue into the origin of this car," said Det Supt Riggans.
"I would ask members of the public, including car dealerships to come forward if they have either bought or sold a black Porsche Cayenne since 1 September or even after the incident on the Monday night to come forward."
