Teenage passenger dies in crash

An 18-year-old man has died in a road crash in Renfrewshire.

The teenager was a passenger in a Peugeot car involved in a head-on collision with a Ford Mondeo in Linwood early on Saturday morning.

The driver of the Ford Mondeo, a 41-year-old woman, was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, where her condition was said to be stable.

The 25-year-old male driver of the Peugeot was not injured. The crash happened at 0045 BST.

A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said the dead man would not be named until relatives were aware.
