Family treated for inhaling gas

A family of three are being treated in hospital after inhaling toxic gas at a farm in East Renfrewshire.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue were called to the farm in Eaglesham just before 1100 BST on Thursday.

Its technical support team secured the scene with monitoring equipment before the family were taken to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilrbide.

A number of cattle were lost during the incident. Fire crews departed the scene shortly after 1400 BST.
