Sergeant on murder attempt charge

A police officer and his teenage son have appeared in court charged with attempted murder.

Sgt David Beattie, 46, spent the weekend in custody after he was arrested by colleagues from his own force in Glasgow.

A 30-year-old man suffered serious injuries during a disturbance on Monday, 18 August.

Two other teenagers are also accused of the charge. All four made no plea or declaration and were released on bail.
