The skies over Lanarkshire will be filled with colour this weekend, as the annual Strathaven Balloon Festival lifts off from Strathaven Park.

The festival, the only one of its kind in Scotland, attracts balloonists from all over the UK and Ireland.

A 160ft tall balloon in the shape of a Highland piper will be the highlight of the display.

There will also be falconry, classic cars and model aircraft demonstrations, as well as musical performances.

The festival is now in its 10th year.
