Police appeal over city shooting

Strathclyde Police have appealed for witnesses to a shooting incident in Glasgow.

A 50-year-old man was at home in Achray Street, in the Sandyhills area of the city, at 2205 BST on Friday when he heard a noise downstairs.

He went down and discovered his front windows had been smashed.

Police later established the window had been shot at. Neighbours told officers they had seen a man running away from the scene.

No-one was injured in the attack.

Det Con Jackie Ferrie, from Shettleston Police Office, said: "Enquiries are at an early stage and at this time we really do not have a lot of information to go on.

"A couple of neighbours saw a man running away from the house round about the time of the incident, however unfortunately there is no clear description of this suspect. He is thought to have run in the direction of Ardgay Street.

"Officers are currently studying CCTV footage in the local area in an effort to trace those responsible."
