Man dies in paragliding accident

A 21-year-old man has died following a paragliding accident near Loch Lomond.

The man, who has not been named, was with a group of friends in the Glen Fruin area when the accident happened on Monday at about 2055 BST.

It is believed he was helping a friend who was paragliding when he slipped and fell down the hillside.

Emergency services were called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Strathclyde Police said a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal.
