Woman detained after man's death

A woman has been arrested following the death of a 50-year-old man in South Lanarkshire.

Edward Quinn sustained serious injuries following a disturbance at his home in Carrick Way, Bothwell, at about 1250 BST on Tuesday.

He was taken to Hairmyres hospital in East Kilbride where he died a short time later.

The 44-year-old woman is being detained in police custody and is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff court.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
