Attempt to identify amnesia man

Man who has lost his memory
The man is being monitored in Monklands Hospital

Strathclyde Police have asked for help to identify a man who has forgotten his identity.

The man was found walking on the A8011 in Cumbernauld near to Greenfaulds High School shortly after midnight on Wednesday, 16 April.

The man, who is about 50-years-old, has a beard and a north of Scotland accent, but cannot remember his name or how he came to be in the Cumbernauld area.

He is uninjured but is being monitored in Monklands Hospital.

He is described as 5ft 10in tall and of slim build with grey hair, full beard, blue eyes and a ruddy complexion. He wears glasses and has a scar on his left wrist.

He was wearing a royal blue bomber-style jacket with high fur-lined collar with a badge on the left breast area showing 'OPCW'.

He also had a beige woollen polo neck, blue trousers with sewn-in creases, black belt, black steel-toe-cap trainer-style shoes and an Adidas beige woollen hat.

He also was wearing a grey vest and white t-shirt both with a Florida motif.
