Police hunt two men after attack

Police are looking for two men in connection with the assault

Police are appealing for information following the attempted murder of a 40-year-old man in North Lanarkshire.

It is believed two men assaulted the victim in a house in Balmoral Crescent, Coatbridge at about 0235 on Sunday.

He was taken to Monklands District General Hospital, where staff described his condition as "serious."

Strathclyde Police has urged anyone who was in the area between 0230 and 0315, who may have seen the two men, to come forward.
