Murder inquiry after flats death
A murder inquiry has been launched after a 29-year-old man was found dead at a block of flats in Glasgow in the early hours of Monday morning.

Alan Thornton, from Queens Drive, was discovered after a disturbance at the entrance to a block of flats at Dirleton Drive in Shawlands.

Another man, aged 42, was injured and taken to hospital.

Officers have been carrying out door-to-door inquiries and have been examining CCTV footage in the area.

Strathclyde Police appealed for anyone who may have witnessed a disturbance between midnight on Sunday and 0100 GMT on Monday to come forward.

Mr Thornton was single and unemployed. He was originally from Aberdeen but arrived in Glasgow three years ago.
