Legionnaires' death investigation
A patient admitted to hospital in Ayrshire with suspected Legionnaires' disease has died.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran said the person, who has not been identified, "sadly died" in Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock on Sunday.

Public health consultant Dr Josephine Pravinkumar said an investigation was under way to establish the source of the patient's infection.

Legionnaires' disease is most often contracted by inhaling mist from water.
